The ongoing pandemic has upended every aspect of our lives, and the annual Team Building was no exemption. The team building was a minor loss in hindsight; after a few months, it would seem that so many would lose so much. A great number of individuals have lost their jobs, and countless businesses have closed their doors. Aside from the health crisis, the economic impact that COVID-19 has brought is merciless. One could not help but think that Finex might be its just another victim.
A weekend of fun was sadly traded out for almost four months of separation and uncertainty. The first few weeks were the toughest to navigate, not because Finex was not prepared. Actually, the management had figured out what each employee would need and found a way to provide all the necessities to work from home in case a lockdown of some sort would occur. Each process and the hypothetical work flow were painstakingly discussed. But understandably, personal loan inquiries came to a standstill. Partner banks had to figure out how to grant qualified individuals personal loans during this financial crisis. Loan advisors had to figure out how to find prospects without leaving their home, and how they can get clients to trust them without in-person interaction. It appeared like there were countless curveballs, seemingly like everything was working against us.
The genuine care and compassion that the management has consistently showed throughout these trying times has been what’s keeping us afloat. If your first assumption is that this is just us giving our bosses a pat in the back, which would be understandable but that isn’t the truth. The daily interactions and check-ins may seem like nothing on the surface, but it is so much more than that. The banter and casual conversations provide a much-needed semblance of normal. It’s what we need, and we are grateful to work with people that know how to value the small things.
It would be amiss to not mention that these difficult times have not stopped the management from doing everything they can to provide support to all of their employees. Given all the struggles imposed by this pandemic, it has been heartwarming to see the people you work for put in the effort to make sure that everyone has food on their table and more. After the past few months, it would be easy to feel that you’re alone, but the consistent efforts and acts of kindness shown by our bosses have truly emphasized that whatever fate may throw our paths, we will find a way to support one another. With all the goodness we’ve been shown, it’s only right that we be inspired to put in the work needed. One Team, One Finex isn’t just a catchy slogan we say for fun. It is the spirit of this company! We all know that the only way we get through this is together.
